In January of 2011, Sherri Sosslau (founder of Hair Flair for Hope, Inc.) was invited to bring HairFlair fantasy wigs to the Look Good Feel Better (LGFB) program, at the Medical Faculty Associates of The George Washington University Hospital, in Washington, DC. LGFB is a national public service program created to help individuals with cancer look good, improve their self-esteem, and thereby manage their treatment and recovery with greater confidence. People undergoing treatment for cancer receive a free cosmetology makeover along with an every-day wig, donated by Pantene. On this day in January, five women also received a one-of-a-kind HairFlair fantasy wig.
“I
wanted to thank you for bringing the HairFlair for Hope wigs to the GW Cancer Center… The wigs are beautiful and made everyone feel amazing… Once I tried it on, it gave me such a lift! I love it! I am even planning a special day to wear it to work. Thank you for making that day so special for me…” – Janel Doughten
